Man shot in apparent highway road rage incident

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - East Bridgewater officials assisted a wounded man after paramedics happened to drive by the scene of a shooting on Route 24 South Monday evening.

Massachusetts State Police officials told Boston 25 the shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. near exit 106 in West Bridgewater.

The suspect fled the scene, while the victim, who was in a separate car, pulled over.

The victim, identified as a 44-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Initial reports indicate the man was shot in the upper arm.

Sky 25 was above the scene of the shooting and showed a car with two bullet holes and a shattered window on the passenger seat side.

A source told Boston 25 the victim claims he was targeted in some form of road rage incident on the highway. State Police are still working to verify that.

Police don't have any suspects yet.

While he lost a lot of blood, the victim is expected to survive.
