Man, 20, injured during shootout on Grove Street in Salem

SALEM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – One person was injured during a shootout on Grove Street in Salem late Saturday night, police said.

Police responded to a reported shooting at 29 Grove St. at about 11 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his chest, reports the Salem Patch.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the Patch, a witness told police two males with handguns fled on foot. The two males are both reportedly tall. One of the males is described as white and the other is described as possibly Hispanic.

An investigation is ongoing.
