BOSTON — The Longfellow Bridge project is over budget and behind schedule.
The state has approved another $12 million for the $300 million project.
The money is being used to keep the bridge historically accurate, while making it structurally sound.
Work began on the project in July of 2013. In 2015, the state extended the construction timeline by two years. It is now expected to be completed this fall.
