World Wish Day commemorates over 40 years of granting life-changing wishes for children

BOSTON — World Wish Day commemorates over 40 years of Make a Wish granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

World Wish Day takes place on April 29 every year, marking the anniversary of the wish that inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish.

Yesterday, hundreds of people gathered in Boston to help make wishes come true. Boston 25′s Vanessa Welch had the honor of emceeing the annual Wine and Wishes event at the Artists for Humanity Epicenter in South Boston.

According to Make a Wish, nearly 27,000 wishes were granted globally last year.

Guests enjoyed wine, food, and beer tastings from local and international vendors, as they raised money to continue granting wishes for kids in New England.

Wines and Wishes says the event raised more than $125,000 meaning 10 kids will be able to have their wishes granted.
