WATCH: Tractor trailer spills sand into Oxford roadway causing hours-long traffic delay

OXFORD, Mass. — A tractor trailer rolled on its side in Oxford Center Thursday morning, spilling debris into the roadway and causing major traffic delays to the surrounding area.

Oxford Police say a large truck travelling southbound on Main Street took a hard left turn onto Sutton Avenue just before 11:30 a.m., causing its sand load to shift and flipping the truck on its side.

There were no reports of any injuries, but Sutton Avenue was closed for 3 hours while crews cleaned up the mess.

The truck was owned by Douglas Equipment Corporation, according to authorities.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Truck Team and Oxford Police.
