Webster Police looking for man who kicked in couple’s door, stole large sum of cash they had saved for dream wedding

WEBSTER, Mass. — Webster Police are looking for help identifying a man who kicked in the door of a home and stole money the couple was saving to pay for their dream wedding.

David Malo said his fiancée came home from a friend’s funeral to find their home had been broken into Monday. Their home is located in the area of Bartlett High School.

The couple has surveillance camera on their property which captured the brazen suspect arrive around 3 p.m. He was in their house for less than four minutes, walking away with a large sum of cash. Malo didn’t want to publicly disclose the exact amount.

The suspect was driving a dark-colored Honda Accord, possibly a 2008 or 2009 model, that he parked at the end of the couple’s driveway.

In addition to the money that was stolen, Malo said he and his fiancée are also out the cost to repair the damage to their door.

He’s thankful their pets weren’t hurt or stolen.

Webster Police Chief Michael Shaw confirmed to Boston 25 News his department is investigating. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is urged to call police at 508-943-1212.
