QUINCY, Mass. — Police in Quincy have tracked down the driver of Jeep Patriot wanted in connection to an odd encounter at a Target store in Stoughton over the weekend.
State Representative Alyson Sullivan had urged women to be careful, after a stranger tried to get her out of her parked car at the store on Sunday afternoon, claiming her vehicle was “leaking oil.”
After posting about it on Facebook, several other women reported similar incidents in nearby towns, such as Brockton, Canton, and Randolph.
On Tuesday, Quincy Police said a similar incident was reported in their city.
A woman told officers a man approached her and claimed her car was leaking oil. The woman called police and gave a description of a Jeep Patriot, which was the same vehicle reported in the Stoughton incident.
At ~9AM, female caller stated that a male approached her and claimed that her car was leaking oil. The female contacted the QPD & provided descrip of MV – a white Jeep Patriot. Local communities have reported similar incidents.
