Two people dead, one injured after car crashes into tree in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — Two people are dead and another was injured after a car crashed into a tree in Brockton late Wednesday night, according to officials.

Brockton police responded to North Cary Street around 11:40 p.m. for the reported crash, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office said.

Responding officers found a Honda Civic had crashed into a tree around five years off the roadway.

The driver, Fernando Da Silveira Jr., 20, of Brockton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Da Silveira’s passenger in the front seat, 37-year-old Christopher Ribeiro of Brockton, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The passenger in the backseat was also taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Massachusetts State Police and Brockton police are investigating the crash.
