Thousands celebrate 10th anniversary of Levitate Music and Arts Festival

MARSHFIELD, Mass — In Marshfield, people from all over the northeast are gathering to enjoy the sights and sounds of Levitate Music and Arts Festival.

What started off as a small gathering of friends has evolved into an event that hosts thousands of people.

“I love live music there’s nothing better than live music,” says Jeremy Fay, a Levitate Music Festival Goer.

Live tunes mixed with thousands of people, and you have one of the biggest music events on the South Shore celebrating a decade of entertainment.

“I think it is awesome. I have never been before,” says Taylor Rock, a Levitate Music Festival Goer.

At the Levitate Music and Arts Festival, you’ll find a little bit of everything. From some people doing hair to others opting to paint murals all while soaking up the sounds around them.

“It is great that the art has grown here in this festival and now we have representation from international artists and so I love to see how it is growing,” says Felipe Ortiz, a Levitate Music Festival Goer.

Levitate Music Festival has come a long way since launching in 2013. It was born through a local surfing and skateboarding business just down the street from the festival with the same name. It started off with just small events at Marshfield Fairgrounds and took off.

“I had zero expectations of it eventually being 20,000 people or 3 days or 3 stages and all this,” says Dan Hassett, Levitate Business Owner.

Ten years later Hassett can’t believe how the event has evolved.

“It’s something that we are really proud of, and it is something cool that we get to do in our life to bring an event and people together for an event where they can come and have a safe time and be with their friends and family. We hope we can continue doing it for another 10 years,” says Hassett.

And so do all the festival goers.

“Beautiful music that spreads love forever,” says Jeremy Fay, a Levitate Music Festival Goer.
