FITCHBURG, Mass. — The Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg had to be evacuated Wednesday after a science experiment triggered the school’s sprinkler system.
School officials say the teacher was performing a demonstration at the front of the class when the sprinklers went off. No one was injured but the school needed to be evacuated.
The Fitchburg Fire Dept. responded and told school officials that the building isn’t accessible in the areas where the sprinklers went off.
Parents were notified and students were dismissed early.
It’s unclear how much damage was sustained.
