SOMERVILLE, Mass. — Police are again investigating after Tufts University on Wednesday morning received its sixth bomb threat in the past week, officials said.
In a statement, a Tufts University spokesperson said, “The campus remains open and is operating with a heightened public safety presence.”
The Tufts Daily reported the community was alerted to the threat shortly before 8 a.m. and that no buildings on the Medford/Somerville campus were evacuated or closed in response.

A threat on Tuesday warned of bombs in six campus buildings, in addition to police headquarters and an athletic field, according to the Daily.
On Monday, several buildings on the campus were searched following the fourth reported threat in a six-day span.
Tufts University was disrupted on Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 for reported bomb threats. A third public safety threat on Dec. 16 was also reported.
Students have been told that they will continue to see an increased public safety presence on campus.

An investigation into all the threats remains ongoing.
