Plane makes emergency landing in Ayer parking lot after running out of fuel

AYER, Mass. — Firefighters responded to a plane that made an emergency landing in a vacant parking lot in Ayer on Saturday after apparently running out of fuel, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.

Fire officials said the airplane had a controlled landing into a vacant parking lot near the wood line on Berkshire Boulevard.

The type of airplane was not released.

The FAA is investigating.
