FOXBORO, Mass. — Rookie QB Bailey Zappe is expected to get the start for the Patriots this weekend, as Mac Jones continues to deal with an injury to his left ankle.

The Pats listed Mac Jones as “doubtful” on Friday’s injury report.

Zappe took over for injured QB Brian Hoyer in the Pat’s 27-24 overtime loss to Green Bay, last week. Hoyer was placed on injured reserve earlier this week due to a concussion he sustained in the second quarter of the game against the Packers.

Mac Jones injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of a game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Pats would go on to lose that game by a score of 37-26. According to the injury report, Jones as been a limited participant in this week’s practices.

If Jones can’t go on Sunday, it will be Zappe’s first NFL Start.

Both the Patriots and their opponent the Detroit Lions will look to get back into the win column this week, as both teams currently sit at 1-3 on the season.

For fans of the old “Pat Patriot” logo, you’re in luck! The Pats will take the field in their throwback red uniform with the white helmet.

The dedication to the throwback doesn’t stop with the uniform, however, as the team has also painted the Pat Patriot logo on the field.

Sunday’s game takes place at 1 p.m., and you can watch it only on Boston 25.
