One hospitalized after police rescue two from water near South Station

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment after Boston first responders were called to a reported drowning near South Station Saturday.

Officers responded to the area of 25 Dorchester Avenue, between South Station and the Fort Point Channel.

Harbor Patrol Officers helped Boston Fire with the two victims struggling in the water. Firefighters called one victim, while a passerby in another boat assisted officers by pulling the second victim from the water.

One of the victims was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other victim was treated on scene and declined further medical evaluation.
