BOSTON — A Massachusetts man has been arrested and charged after allegedly posting multiple threats against President Donald Trump on social media, federal authorities announced Wednesday.
Andrew D. Emerald, 45, of Great Barrington, was indicted by a federal grand jury on eight counts of interstate transmission of threatening communications.
He was taken into custody earlier Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Springfield this afternoon.
According to prosecutors, Emerald allegedly made a series of Facebook posts between May and July 2025 in which he threatened to injure or kill Trump.
The indictment outlines eight separate posts containing violent language and explicit threats, including references to tracking Trump’s whereabouts and carrying out attacks.
Some messages referenced locations associated with Trump and described potential methods of violence.

If convicted, Emerald faces up to five years in prison on each count, as well as supervised release and financial penalties.
