Manchester couple wanted for allegedly abandoning over a dozen cats in home

MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester couple is facing animal cruelty charges after over a dozen cats were found abandoned in their home.

In October 2022, Manchester Police received reports from a neighbor that told police that he had not seen the owner in at least two weeks and could see multiple cats through a window.

Police responded to the home at 312 Seames Drive, upon arrival officers could smell a strong odor of ammonia coming through an open window.

Inside the home, officers could see furniture flipped over, torn up, and covered in feces.

Officers also saw a deceased cat in the corner and many extremely thin cats on a couch.

The cats did not look well, appeared to be missing fur, and had no food or water according to police. Over several days, Manchester Police Animal Control located and removed ten cats suffering from serious health issues and four deceased from inside the home.

Through the initial investigation, police learned that the homeowner was 42-year-old Meghan Williams. 59-year-old Robert Gerhold was also living in the house at the time, according to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about their whereabouts to call the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
