Local chef brings coastal Mexican flair home with new cookbook

A well-known local chef is bringing bold new flavors to home kitchens just in time for spring.

Chef and restaurateur Jason Santos, the force behind Boston’s vibrant Citrus & Salt, released a new cookbook titled Citrus & Salt: Coastal Mexican Fare from Boston’s Hottest Restaurant.

The cookbook captures the spirit of coastal Mexican cuisine with a playful twist.

The cookbook features several favorites from the restaurant, including the Off-the-Cob Flamin’ Hot Street Corn—smoky grilled corn tossed in creamy mayo and crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos—alongside Citrus & Salt’s signature guacamole and the indulgent Bacon Cheeseburger Empanadas with Special Sauce

Santos has appeared on multiple seasons of Bar Rescue and Hell’s Kitchen, and is also the author of Simple Fancy and Buttermilk & Bourbon.

He currently owns four restaurants: Buttermilk & Bourbon in Boston and Watertown, Citrus & Salt in Boston, and ButterBird in Watertown.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
