‘It’s a Barbie world’: Local fans buzzing for new Barbie movie

Everywhere you look, people are buzzing for Barbie.

“My dad the other day was like, ‘Barbie is everywhere’,” said Kaitlyn Neil, of Taunton. “I was like good, it’s a Barbie world!”

Boston 25 News viewers of all ages have been painting the town pink as they turn out in droves to watch the new movie. “I am most excited about seeing this movie because Barbie was such a great influence on me when I was growing up,” said Sophia Parker, of Taunton.

Barbie - which boasted the biggest opening day of 2023 so far – is still going strong at the box office.

“I knew it was going to be a big hit,” said Clair Constant, of Walpole. “When I found out the movie was coming out, I had to watch it.”

Barbie was created in 1959. Fans are excited about the nostalgia the movie brings.

“Just growing up with Barbie and seeing it on the big screen is really cool,” said Neil. “It’s definitely great to have the different generations in girl power!”
