‘Hand-painted collector’s item’: Kowloon selling customed Nike sneakers designed by local artist

SAUGUS, Mass. — The Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus teamed up with a local artist to design hand-painted Nike sneakers to raise money for charity.

Sway from Blueswaydshowes used an airbrush technique to design 100 limited-edition pairs of sneakers that showcase the Kowloon logo in gold, red, and black.

“We came up with the idea as a fun way to raise money for different charities,” said Bobby Wong, the owner of the Saugus eatery. “The Kowloon sneaker is the first in a series with more series to come. We are working with various local charities and will feature their logo on future sneakers with proceeds going to the charity.”

The sneakers are now on sale for $495 per pair.

Those interested in scoring a pair of the sweet new kicks can call the restaurant directly at 781-233-0077 or go online to Kowloonrestaurant.com.
