NAHANT, Mass. — Two people were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital following an overnight fire on Maple Avenue in Nahant.
Firefighters were called to the scene around midnight Friday, according to Nahant Fire Chief Austin Antrim. Police had arrived before the first engine and were the ones who removed the two occupants from the home.

Fire crews were met with heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic, according to Antrim.
The ceiling partially caved in, which may have resulted in a minor injury to one firefighter, according to the Nahant Fire Department.

A firefighter told Boston 25 News, as of 7 a.m., fire investigators had not determined a definitive cause for the fire.
