East Boston man dies after crashing motorcycle in Revere

REVERE, Mass. — An East Boston man was pronounced dead Thursday night after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed, according to police.

The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Juan Alvarez.

Officers responding to the area of North Shore Road at Agawam Street around 9 p.m. for a motorcycle crash found Alvarez had lost control of the bike and sustained serious injuries, according to a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson. Alvarez was transported to CHA Everett Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities say it’s unclear why he lost control of the motorcycle and that he potentially struck the guardrail.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
