BOSTON — If you’ve ever wanted a Massachusetts low letter and number license plate, time is running out to enter the state’s annual lottery.
The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is accepting applications for its 2026 Annual Low Number Plate Lottery through 5 p.m. on Friday, August 14.
The lottery is free to enter, and any Massachusetts resident with an active passenger vehicle registration is eligible to apply.
More than 12,000 residents have already entered the lottery, according to the RMV.
This year’s drawing includes 237 low-number standard passenger license plates, with sought-after combinations such as 318, 7575, 8J, 66K, V3, and L99 available.
Winners and alternate winners will be selected electronically through a random number generator and notified by the RMV.
The lottery is for standard white Massachusetts passenger license plates and is separate from the one-time lottery held for the state’s commemorative 250th Anniversary license plates.
