Multiple pets perish in Easton house fire

EASTON, Mass. — Two dogs and a horde of hamsters are dead after a fire tore through a home in Easton Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of a blaze on Reynolds Street shortly after 10:30 a.m. where they found a house engulfed in flames. Additional help was called in as heavy plumes of smoke and flames poured from the windows.

Firefighters had trouble initially finding the source of the flames because the two-story home was older.

The blaze was extinguished after a two-and-a-half hour firefight.

The house sustained heavy damage and is considered a total loss. No humans were injured during the fire.

Four residents are currently displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
