BPD: Woman killed in Mattapan shooting

MATTAPAN, Mass. — A woman is dead and another was injured after a shooting in Mattapan late Tuesday night, according to Boston Police.

Boston EMS said they were called around 11 p.m., after the shooting on Deering Road, a dense residential block of Mattapan.

Police say a woman was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds where she was pronounced dead.

A man was also taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and is expected to be OK.

Boston 25 News cameras captured a maze of crime scene tape cross-crossing the street overnight. By 5 a.m., the street had reopened and crime scene tape was gone.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
