Four young teens arrested in Worcester after allegedly throwing bricks at 19 moving cars

WORCESTER, Mass. — Four young teenagers were arrested on Saturday after allegedly throwing bricks from their car window at 19 vehicles, striking one man in his face, according to Worcester Police.

Police found a 37-year-old man severely hurt when they arrived at Plantation Street around 3:50 p.m. The man said he had been driving eastbound on Plantation Street and passed a red SUV when a brick flew through his windshield and struck him in the face causing serious injuries, police said.

He was brought to a hospital.

Officers learned that the suspect red SUV was stolen and they received more calls reporting bricks being thrown from a red SUV.

An officer saw the red SUV, followed it and the suspect sped up. The red SUV then stopped, and two young teen boys ran out while two young teen girls remained in the car, police said.

Officers pursued the two boys from Ashwood Street where the SUV stopped to Houghton Street.

A 16-year-old boy, 15-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl and 15-year-old girl were all arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (brick)
  • Assault with a dangerous weapon (brick) x5
  • Mayhem, conspiracy, malicious damage to a motor vehicle x19
  • Throwing missiles at a train or bus
  • Resisting Arrest

The 16-year-old boy was also charged with unlawful carrying of a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles) and carrying a dangerous weapon when arrested.

Police said they will be arraigned in court.
