For the first time in 20 years, the TD Garden gets a makeover

The home of the Bruins and the Celtics is getting a makeover.

For the first time in more than 20 years, the TD Garden will be undergoing a major renovation.

Since 1995 the TD Garden has stood as one of the top arenas in the country, and is now getting a $100 million renovation.

"It really improves the guest experience, people are going to be able to get in and out of the building easier," said Amy Latimar, President of the TD Garden.

For the first time in two decades, the Garden will have a front door with a grand entrance.

The renovation, which is already underway, will feature a class canopy above and two new escalators and stairs for guests to access the garden directly.

The massive expansion will take place over the next two years, providing much more space in the concourses and much more amenities.

"We've got new food and beverage, we've got some new products - it's just an expanded space so we're thrilled," said Latimar.

David Petros has been to several games and concerts at the Garden and says he welcomes the change.

"I think it's a good time for a facelift," said Petros.

Others feel as though the change is long overdue.

"I think, when it's done it's gonna be awesome," said Brian Viera, a fan. "Right now it kind of stinks."
