EVERETT, Mass. — A windy spring afternoon in Everett turned a house fire in a triple-decker in to an inferno.
Neighbors captured cell phone video as first responders arrived.
“I work down the street and I see the fire, so I came by and I see flames everywhere,” Farid Belguendouz said.
The fire happened in a home at 11 Oakland Ave., right near Broadway.
“Upon arrival we had three rear porches fully involved. Companies did a quick primary search on all three floors, there was no tenants at home, thank God,” Deputy Fire Chief Michael Ragucci said.
Eleven people who lived in the building have been displaced, and two neighboring buildings were also damaged.
“I live like two minutes from here, so I go and bring like my shoes. I give my shoes, all my blankets for them because I know this is really bad and nobody wants this to happen to them,” Nayara Fernandes said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
