BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - As the company comes under scrutiny, DraftKings has retained former Attorney General Martha Coakley as an outside adviser.

A DraftKings spokesperson said that Coakley will help on legislative and regulatory matters regarding DraftKings. The spokesperson said that Coakley has not been hired as a staff member.

Boston-based DraftKings allows people to bet on fantasy football, and other sports, every night of the week using their app and website. DraftKings is under review by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office to determine the legality of the fantasy sports betting site.

"Neither federal law nor Massachusetts state statutes prohibit fantasy gaming. My focus is on ensuring that there are proper consumer protections in place," Attorney General Maura Healey has said.

It's a question many are asking, as online fantasy sports websites become more popular.
