ABINGTON, Mass. — A 78-year-old man has died after the pickup truck he was driving was hit by a Commuter Rail train in Abington.
Transit police tell Boston 25 News the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. at the North Street crossing on the Kingston-Plymouth line.
There were 10 passengers on board the train at the time of the crash, but none of them reported injuries.
"As we're entering Abington, all of a sudden the train started jerking violently and all of a sudden you heard a loud bang and one of the conductors came running back and he goes 'we struck a pickup truck,'" passenger Charlie Wood said.

The driver of truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
