Cat litter mistaken for meth leads to man's arrest

HOUSTON, Tx. — A Texas man was arrested after deputies thought the nearly a half-pound of kitty litter in a man's car was meth.

Ross Lebeau was accused of being a meth kingpin and spent three days in jail, WMActionNew reports.

Lebeau later explained that substance was cat litter inside a sock, which is supposed to keep car windows from fogging up.

However, the police report shows that two field tests done by deputies came back positive for meth. A third test, done in a forensic lab, showed that it was not in fact meth.

Lebeau and his attorney are blaming the field tests and he's working to expunge his record.
