Cape bear doing well

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Environmental officials say the infamous Cape bear is doing well and settling into his new home.

A bear biologist told The Boston Globe the black bear is adjusting to his new home in western Massachusetts and that he's showing no signs of trauma or stress following his ordeal.

On Tuesday, the bear was spotted in a tree in Brookline, about 100 miles away from where he was released in central Massachusetts.

The bear had been relocated following his cross-Cape journey that included stops in Sandwich, Provincetown and Wellfleet.

This may not be the last time we see this guy or any of his friends. Wildlife officials say it's very possible he could find his way back east looking for food or a mate.
