Cambridge firefighters battle two-alarm fire at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Firefighters in Cambridge worked to extinguish a two-alarm fire at a Harvard University classroom building on Friday afternoon, according to the department's official Twitter page.

The fire was at Emerson Hall, which houses the school's Department of Philosophy, is located in Harvard Yard, just off of Quincy Street in Cambridge. The building dates back to 1905 and is named for the philosopher and Harvard alumnus Ralph Waldo Emerson.
