Ben Affleck shows New England colors: 'I have Dunkin Donuts everyday'

LOS ANGELES — Rasied in nearby Cambridge, Mass., Ben Affleck is a familiar name and face throughout Massachusetts and New England -- and he's apparently been sticking to his roots.

The now-Hollywood star has been often seen taking in baseball games at Fenway Park, or working on films that take place in Boston -- like The Town and Good Will Hunting.

In an interview with Collider, an entertainment website, Affleck spoke about his new role in a newly released Netflix movie, Triple Frontier. But before he go into the details of the new J.C. Chandor film, Affleck spoke with his interviewer - and fellow New Englander - Steve Weintraub about being a Mass. native living in Los Angeles.

Naturally, Weintraub and Affleck touched on a regional favorite among New England natives, Dunkin' Donuts.

When asked about the novelty of the Quincy-based chain being in Los Angeles, Affleck - whose younger brother Casey showed his love for Dunkin' on a December 2016 episode of Saturday Night Live - told of his daily habit.

"I have Dunkin Donuts everyday," Affleck said. "It's very weird, I have it every day and people are always like, 'Where is that? Is that near here?' So, I feel like I'm spreading the word."

Before they mentioned the staple coffee shop, the two began their conversation with a discussion about a popular topic in New England: the six-time Super Bowl Champion Patriots.

"Did you ever think that this was the year that Brady was going to win his next one, especially with the way the season went?" asked Weintraub.

"I mean, no. They started off, what 0-2 or something? Then like, 1-3, or some crazy thing. But, you never count them out because they always have these weird starts and turn around and come back, and get to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl. It’s really fun because they’re never really out until they’re actually out," Affleck replied before giving his take on Tom Brady's passing targets,

"The receivers weren’t as strong as you would have thought they would have needed to be to win a Super Bowl," the actor said, mirroring a sentiment felt throughout the region during New England's regular season.

Affleck can be seen in his new movie, Triple Frontier, which was released on March 3, 2019 on Netflix.
