Barnstable man dies after being found unresponsive in street

BARNSTABLE, Mass. — A man who was found unresponsive in the middle of a Barnstable street early Friday morning has died, according to Cape & Islands Assistant District Attorney Tara Miltimore.

Barnstable police received a 911 call around 4 a.m. to report the incident on Wequaquet Lane in Centerville.

When officers arrived they said they found the man, who was later identified as David Silva, 42, of Barnstable, in the street.

He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he later died.

The incident remains under investigation by Barnstable police, Massachusetts State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
