Anonymous' unusual weapon against ISIS – 'rickrolling'

FLORDIA -- Could singer Rick Astley help take down the Islamic State?

According to Bloomberg, Anonymous "hactivists" are using the age-old "rickrolling" meme – in which a person pretends to hyperlink to one site but instead links to the video for Astley's 1987 song "Never Gonna Give You Up" – to disrupt the terrorist group's efforts to create threads and trending topics on social media.

"Our upcoming action: spamming verified ISIS hashtags with rickrolls," @OpParisOfficial, the Twitter account for Anonymous' campaign against ISIS in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, posted last week. "Will release the list as soon as it's compiled."
