BOSTON — "The Improper Bostonian" is closing down after nearly 28 years in business, the magazine announced on Thursday.
A Beantown staple, the company first began publishing local content in 1991.
Serving as a guide on arts and culture, style, events and food, The Improper Bostonian was one of the many references Bostonians and tourists could turn to for ideas on what do do, buy, eat, see and drink in the city.

Leaving nearly half a million readers behind, the magazine was delivered to residents all around the Boston area for $29.95 a year.
In a statement released by publisher Wendy Semonian Eppich, the company highlights that, while the news is surprising, they "had a great run" and are "hopefully leaving this incredible city better and brighter".
After a series of thank yous to staff, advertisers and the Semonian family, Eppich asks readers to remember the magazine with fondness and to pass on ways to "enrich the lives of others while celebrating and enjoying life in this wonderful city."
