Abington Police Sgt. found dead, fund set up to support family

ABINGTON, Mass. — The Abington Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Sergeant Alex Kokoros was found dead Monday at his home in Marshfield. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said foul play wasn’t suspected.

Kokoros was described by his fellow officers as “a shining star who always had a smile on his face.”

During his few years on Abington’s police force, he served as the school resource officer.

“He positively touched so many lives and loved working with the children in the schools,” read a statement from the department.

An account has been set up to help support his family.
