MANCHESTER, N.H. — An 18-year-old man is accused of stabbing three police officers as they responded to a domestic incident on Ahern Street, police said.
Akwasi Owusu was held without bail following his arrest Tuesday and was scheduled to face a judge on Wednesday.
The officers were sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and one officer has since been released, police said in a Facebook post.
Police responded to 6 Ahern St. at approximately 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic incident involving some family members.
Officers gave multiple commands for a male suspect to come out of a room, police said. When he did not comply, the officers went in. A struggle ensued as the officers tried to arrest the suspect.
Owusu, who had a hidden knife, then began stabbing the officers, police said.
He is being charged with three counts of first-degree assault and one count of criminal mischief for the altercation involving a family member. Owusu is also facing one count of second-degree assault and one count of simple assault for a previous, unrelated incident.
