MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. — Twenty-four animals have been removed from a Middleborough kennel facility, the Animal Rescue League of Boston announced Friday.
ARL law enforcement, Middleborough Police, and Animal Control recently executed a search warrant at a commercial kennel facility to inspect and seize animals from the property.
Officials say most of the 24 animals removed were young adult Cane Corso and Dogo Argentino dogs, but a peacock, donkey, ducks, and a chicken were seized as well.

The animals, according to officials, were found living in poorly ventilated, unsanitary, cruel and dangerous conditions. All have been transported to ARL facilities across the state for medical care and behavioral evaluations before being made available for adoption.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed, but they may come.
