BOSTON — The most stolen car in the United States isn’t even from this decade.
It turns out, the 1997 Honda Accord is a favorite among thieves.
They’re a common target because they were one of the last car models made without current anti-theft technology.
Accords are also the most commonly stolen car in Massachusetts. Last year, 530 of them were stolen in the Commonwealth.
Other frequently stolen cars include Honda Civics, Toyotas Corollas, Toyota Camry’s and Dodge Caravans.
Experts said the best way to prevent vehicle theft is to lock your car and keep your keys with you.
