1 person shot in Burlington over the weekend, police say

BURLINGTON, Mass. — Burlington Police are looking to the public for any information regarding a weekend shooting that left one person injured.

The victim, who was treated at a local hospital after being shot, is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was random. Further details on the shooting, including a possible motive and the extent of the victim’s injuries, were not released.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday, police received a report of a shooting that had occurred sometime after midnight.

A preliminary investigation found that the shooting happened at Regan Park on Sumpter Road.

Investigators responded to the park and processed the scene for evidence.

Police have boosted patrols in the area with uniformed and plainclothes officers as a precautionary measure.
