LYNN, Mass. — A woman was hit by a truck while crossing the street on a motorized wheelchair in Lynn, according to witnesses.
The accident happened on Thursday afternoon, just after 2:30 p.m.
Investigators said the 67-year-old woman was in the crosswalk when witnesses said a pickup truck collided with her chair.

“I seen when she was getting hit I seen her fall," said Mariangelica Lopez, a witness. “It definitely sent her flying - her shoes, her wallet her keys we picked it up. She was just in and out of it, had hair patches missing and cuts and scrapes everywhere."
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Perez Zacarias, was arrested on the scene on an outstanding warrant.
Authorities said he is now facing charges of unlicensed operation of a vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Witnesses told Boston 25 News the woman’s injuries were ‘just gruesome.'
The woman was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and is expected to survive.
