The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office posted surveillance video showing the crime on Facebook. The video shows a man sticking the large weapon down his pants, wrapping his jacket around his stomach, and then using a crutch that he had propped against the aisle to walk back out of frame. In the caption, deputies said, “Just when you think you have seen it all, this guy takes carrying a concealed weapon to a whole new level, as he proves to all of us that you can actually stuff a Crossbow down the front of your pants!!”

WELL HERE IS SOMETHING YOU DON’T SEE EVERYDAY…ONE OF THE WORLD’S DUMBEST CRIMINALS CAUGHT ON VIDEO STUFFING A CROSSBOW DOWN HIS PANTS!! Just when you think you have seen it all, this guy takes carrying a concealed weapon to a whole new level, as he proves to all of us that you can actually stuff a Crossbow down the front of your pants!! On February 6, 2022, employees at the True Value Store, located at 2800 Highway 1, in Mims, discovered that two crossbows had been stolen from the store. Upon reviewing video surveillance footage, a male subject is observed walking into the store, stealing a pair of cutting tools off the shelf, and then cutting the zip ties off of a Ravin Rio Crossbow. The subject, later identified as Darren Durrant is observed on video walking around the corner from where the crossbows were shelved and then stuffing the crossbow down the front of his pants so he could walk out the store undetected. Durrant was located a couple of days later in the parking lot of a nearby Walgreens by Deputy Michael Lindo of our North Precinct. Believe it or not, Durrant actually fled on foot when he observed Deputy Lindo although as you might imagine after seeing the video, he didn’t get very far!! As a result of the investigation and some great video footage from the store, Deputy Lindo obtained an arrest warrant for Durrant for Felony Petit Theft as he has two prior felony theft convictions!! Durrant is currently in the Seminole County Jail on an unrelated burglary charge and then will face charges in Brevard County for Felony Petit Theft!! You just can’t make this stuff up!!
