According to WJBK-TV and WJRT-TV, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eugene Steven Pratt, 57, on Tuesday after an investigation by the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team, aka GHOST. He was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and jailed on $25,000 bond, the department announced Wednesday.

Although the charge relates specifically to an alleged incident that occurred in 2013, Sheriff Chris Swanson said Pratt may have abused 15 teenage boys and young men since the suspect’s teaching career began in the mid-1980s, WNEM-TV reported. Pratt, most recently a security and transportation employee at the New Paths addiction treatment center in Flint, previously worked at Beecher, Kearsley, Hamady and Grand Blanc schools and was Caniff Liberty Academy’s dean of students from 2013 to 2015, Swanson said.

“It’s a case like many you’ve heard across the country for many years – school administrator, principal, substitute teacher, involved in sports, dean of students,” Swanson said in a Facebook video Wednesday, according to WJBK. “We know this message is going to spread, and we want people to come forward.”

Swanson is encouraging anyone with information about the case to call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 810-257-3422.
