Kate Middleton designed a “Back to Nature” garden, along with landscape architects Andree Davies and Adam White, for the annual Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show, also known as the Great Spring Garden Show, which dates back to 1912.

“I really hope that this woodland that we have created really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors, and spend quality time together,” Middleton said.

The duchess’ design is part of her work on early childhood development issues and is an effort at encouraging more children to get outside and play.

"I believe that spending time outdoors when we are young can play a role in laying the foundations for children to become happy, healthy adults," she has said in the past, according to ITV.

The new photos released by Kensington Palace show William and Kate romping through the “Back to Nature” garden Sunday with their three children: George, 5, Charlotte, 4, and 1-year-old Louis.

The children gathered moss, leaves and twigs with their parents to help decorate the garden.

Over the months of work on the garden, the children also helped gather hazel sticks, which were used to make the garden’s den.

The show runs for five days in May and attracts visitors from around the world.
