NEWTON, Mass. — Newton police said a shelter in place at five schools has been lifted.
They ordered the shelter in place at three public schools and two private schools this morning while they were searching for three people who fled from a car crash Friday morning.

Boston 25 News has crews in the area of Oak Avenue, where there is a lot of police activity.
Police said they responded to a crash on the Mass. Pike Friday morning, and three people fled from a vehicle after crashing into a guard rail.

Police said the search for those people is now over, but the three people have not been located.
