BOSTON — The MBTA says its random safety inspections have nothing to do with president trump's executive orders.
Transit police say they do not enforce federal immigration laws.
Random bag inspections are part of an effort to prevent a terrorist attack, according to transit police.
Riders are randomly selected to have their bags swabbed, which is then run through an explosive detection device.
#MBTA Transit Police officers do NOT enforce Federal Immigration laws. We are here to serve EVERYONE. Part 1 or 2
