Man allegedly digs up historic graves in Salem

SALEM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Beverly man has been arrested for digging up a grave at the Charter Street Cemetery in Salem, according to the Salem Police Department.

Brian Thomas Bennett, 26, was charged with desecrating a place of burial and disorderly conduct.

Police say Bennett was using the tools of an archaeologist and had targeted two graves from the mid-1700s.
