Man faces gun, OUI charges after slamming car into Stow house

STOW, Mass. — A man is under arrest after driving drunk and slamming his car into the side of a multi family home in Stow Thursday night, according to police.

William Michael Shook, 53, of Harvard, Massachusetts, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, operating to endanger and marked lane violation.

Officers responding to the area of 6 Hastings Road around 10:15 p.m. found a 2010 red Chevrolet Suburban had taken out the corner of a multi-family unit and had knocked down several electrical wires in the process, prompting a technical rescue, according to the Stow Police Department.

Three people were in the building at the time of the crash but the apartment Shook’s car struck was unoccupied at the time. The five residents living in the building have all been displaced.

No injuries were reported.

After shutting off gas and electric service to the building, Shook was rescued from his car.

He declined medical treatment and an on-scene investigation determined he was drunk, according to authorities.

He will be arraigned on Friday at Concord District Court.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
