Thomas, 73, was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., after experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” according to the high court’s statement.
Thomas, who is being treated with antibiotics, is resting comfortably as his symptoms wane and expects to be released within a matter of days, CNBC reported.
According to The Associated Press, the high court is slated to hear arguments in four cases this week, and Thomas “plans to participate in the cases even if he misses the arguments,” the high court stated.
Thomas has been on the court since 1991.
